Purity.

Sometimes less means more. This project was to capture simplicity through a few key pieces of furniture and not over layering the scene. I asked the stylist to make some paper sculpture artwork to enhance the Japanese them of origami but in the form of wall art and the cascading plants helps cancel out too many lines of vision

Letting in the light.

This image is a decadent use of light. Almost half the picture is given over to the windows which allows the image to breath.

The calmness of sleep.

Here’s a layering story with multiple textures. From the light shade of the wallart to the bedding mixing a selection of bedding. I asked the stylist to create a selection of Japanese inspired prints and I love the hot red of the print top left, subtly connecting with the red book bottom right, which takes your eye through the story.

Keep it simple.

Sometimes being disciplined with colours is the best solution. I love the way the colour palette of this shot is white, grey with a hint of dark blue with the subtle white story on the coffee table high lighted by the reflection on the glass dome.
